Make Your Own Winding Sticks

This course is being offered in person (Rockford, IL) and via Zoom.
Course Description
This will be a beginner’s class where you will end with a functioning and beautiful pair of winding sticks. This class will work on dimensioning skills as well as simple decorative inlay and possibly touch on basic carving if time allows. We will also touch on fine chisel work.
Tools/Materials Needed*
One piece – Light color straight-grained wood (Poplar, Maple, ect.) = 1/2″ x 3″ x 24″
One piece – Dark colored contract wood (Walnut, Rosewood, ect.) scrap size at least 1/2″ x 1/2″ x 2″ (can be bigger)
One piece – Dark colored contrast wood (Walnut, Rosewood, ect.) scrap size at least 1/4″ x 1/4″ x 1″ (Can be bigger)
Wood Glue (CA, 5-minute epoxy, hide glue, ect.)
