Christopher Sexton stumbled back into woodworking after too much time spent in front of computers. A lifelong maker, he worked in a cabinet shop as a teenager—which strongly motivated him to get an engineering degree. While working with computers funds the obsession, he turned to woodworking as a much-needed break from screens. He quickly fell headfirst into hand tool woodworking and has been cutting joinery and restoring vintage planes ever since.

Christopher is a woodshop steward at Nova Labs, a large makerspace just outside of DC, where he teaches woodworking classes, runs a monthly hand tool meetup, and makes furniture. He’s spent hundreds of hours bringing old tools back to life and will do his best to pass along both hard-earned knowledge and a healthy respect for penetrating oil.

Picture of Stacey Lewis Plane Wellness Teacher

Stacey Lewis: Working with tools has always been a part of my life. I started carpentry during my teenage years remodeling old homes. I studied Electronics Engineering in college and later became a telcom executive for most of my career. Woodworking was present throughout and today I’m a full time woodworker and content creator based in Mississippi. Teaching allows me to focus on what I love vs what clients want. Working with hand tools has always been a passion accompanied by a few power tools for balance. I’m excited to work worth Plane Wellness in sharing woodworking and it’s many benefits to anyone willing to learn.
