Make Your Own Panel Gauge

Course Description
In this 4-hour class, we will make a simple panel gauge. The gauge has an octagonal beam, and a brass insert for easy use. This is a beginner-level class that is designed for the woodworker who is just starting out. At the end of the class, you will walk away with a functional tool for the future.

Back saw with Crosscut teeth
Back Saw with Rip Cut Teeth (optional)
Plow plane with 1/8″ cutter
Brace and bit (Or drill)
7/8″ auger bit (3/4 will work)
Set of bench chisels
Smoothing plane
Block plane (optional)
File set (optional)
Small drill bit set (1/8″ – 3/8″ ish)
Alen Wrench Set (optional)
Marking knife
6″ square
Miter square (optional)
Supplies needed (Material pack options available):
1/8″ X 1/8″ X 2′ Brass square bar
1/4″ Brass Thumb Screw
1/4″ Threaded insert
1 1/2″ Wood screw
3/4″ X 3 1/2″ X 10″ oak board
1″ X 1″ X 2′ oak board
Super glue or fast glue of your choice.
