Carving Celtic Knots 101

Course Description
In this class, we will learn how to carve Celtic knots using basic bench chisels, a knife, and carving gouges. We will be learning and sharpening, pattern creation, and finishing touches. By the end of this class, you will be able to add surface carving to any project. You will be provided with patterns ahead of time that you will need to print out for the class. For in-person students, all wood and patterns will be provided when you arrive.
Tools/Materials Needed
Supplies needed
1. 4-5 pieces of Scrap wood at least 3.5″ X 8″. In person, we will be working with straight-grained pine, but any wood would do. The harder the wood, the more difficult it will be in general.
2. Printer paper

Tools needed
1. Half-inch bench chisel
2. Mallet
3. Card scraper
4. 60-degree V-tool
5. Riflers (optional)
