Starting the Design Process
Experience Level: ANY
Instructor: Jeff Warshafsky – Reed Planes
Class Size: 15 students
Sessions: 1 session at 1(ish) hours
Course Description
Many woodworkers buy plans for their builds, other woodworkers want to design their own build but don’t know where to start. In this course, you will learn how to start and how to critically think through your design. You CAN make your own design and it is easier than you think.
We will discuss what makes for a good design and how best to judge a design. We will then review an approach to how to start your design by establishing goals and understanding the limits. Once we know what the parameters are to be for the design, the process of communicating that design begins. A review of some of the methods we can use to communicate our design and how they help define the road to the final design. We will end the course with the start of a design and a Q&A session.
