Course Description
Are you ready for woodworking, food and friends? Here is your chance! Join us for this special 3-day, in-person course where we will build a shop stool, enjoy meals together, and hang out!
Shea Alexander will teach:
-Basic Lathe Turning for the seats
-Making octagonal legs and spindles both by hand and machine
-Laying out Rake and Splay angles
-Drilling and reaming tapered seat mortises
-Proper stool and chair joinery techniques
Tools and lumber will be provided for the course.
If you want to bring your own tools, we will be using:
-Laser levels and tripods
-6 Degree Tapered Reamers (like this)
-No 5 Hand Plane
-V groove jigs (shop made)
Accommodations:
I will be renting an AirBNB where everyone can have their own rooms and stay with us and other students for FREE. If you would like to stay with us please indicate that in the registration/application form. I will get a list of people and then book the BNB so the sooner we know the better.
